Amazing Cuisine. Sexy Wines. Cool Music
While touring Europe with the classic rock band Bad Company, Paul Cullen fell in love with fine wine, exquisitely prepared food and the culture that surrounds both. When he settled down in the Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, area, he decided to pursue his three passions and create a unique business that brought them all together.
A professional musician for more than three decades, Paul put down his bass and picked up his guitar to compose jazzy tunes with a Latin flair. Since 2007, he’s released five solo albums, including his latest, “Live in Tuscany,” which, he says, “pairs perfectly with just about any wine in your glass.”
Paul has performed for thousands of people over the course of his career. He’s played in California vineyards, Italian villas and concert areas. He’s opened up for rock legends Heart and Foreigner.
Paul studied and became a WSET-certified level 2 sommelier, and he revisited the classic Italian recipes he learned from his grandmother, Elise Tagliaferro, and his mother, Nancy while growing up in Buffalo, New York. He deepened his love — and knowledge — of Italian cuisine during visits to Italy, where he cooked with the local chefs, sipped with winemakers while strolling the vineyards and performed with Italian musicians.
Paul brought all of these passions together in 2013 when he started an in-home dining service. Now a personal chef, Paul cooks in his client’s homes or the location of their choice. It’s an interactive experience. A genial raconteur, Paul tells stories about his life on the road with a rock band while making pasta or plating a photo-worthy appetizer. He also answers questions about Italian cooking and cuisine.
The four-course meals, paired with his wine suggestions, are followed by an in-home concert with an acoustic guitar. It’s the ideal trifecta of food, wine, and music!
It’s no wonder Paul has been called a renaissance man, and he wears the title with honor.
