Hand-Drawn Animation By West End Artist To Be featured On Milton Theatre's "Wizard Of Oz"

Southern Delaware’s theatre fans are in a visual treat as the Milton Theatre’s musical production of “The Wizard Of Oz” will feature original hand-drawn animation by artist Mal Meehan.




For 30+ years, Mal Meehan has pioneered the combination of visual design, broadcast video production and animation, touch-screen interactive applications through web and mobile development to create immersive experiences for retail, exhibition and museum installations. Meehan now owns and operates Milton Multimedia, in Milton Delaware.


Industry trained as a film camera operator and broadcast video engineer, while also working as a lighting technician on films such as Tim Burton’s Batman and Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.




In 1992 Meehan was the lead engineer and creative programmer of the world’s largest video wall at the Expo World Fair, Seville, Spain – 850 monitors, 40ft high, 60ft wide (Guinness World Record).


As a consultant, Meehan worked with prominent corporations and design agencies across the UK including, BD-Network, Fitch, Imagination, JKR, Ogilvy, Optimism, Pentagram, Radley Yeldar, Saatchi, The Team and Wolff Olins - Direct clients included: BAE Systems, Eurofighter, Raytheon Aerospace, SMITHS Aviation, SITA Aerospace, Barclays Capital, Mercury Asset Management, Merrill Lynch, Ernst & Young, Rothschild, SONY Broadcast UK, Nortel Networks, Nokia, Orange, Bacardi, Carling, Schweppes, Coke, Lurpac, Mars, John Freida and Nike.

To highlight these artworks, the Milton Theatre will be installing a 17x10 foot LED screen on it’s stage that will serve as backdrop for the production. This is a first for the area and will definitely take the show quality to a whole new level!
