Position: Lighting Designer/Operator (Busking)
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Availability: Immediate
Schedule: Mostly weekends

About the Role:
Are you passionate about creating dynamic and engaging lighting designs on the fly? We are seeking a talented Lighting Designer/Operator to join our team, with a focus on “busking” during live shows. This role involves real-time lighting design, requiring quick thinking and creativity to enhance the live performance experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Live Show Lighting: Design and operate lighting in real-time during live performances, adapting to the flow and energy of the show.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with directors, performers, and other technical staff to ensure seamless integration of lighting with the overall production.
  • Equipment Management: Set up, operate, and maintain lighting equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning properly.
  • Creative Input: Contribute creative ideas to enhance the visual impact of the performance.

A1 Sound Engineer:

  • General hours: approx. 20 hours/week. evenings, weekends (required), and some days

Assistant Stage Manager – Project Based

  • Assist Stage Manager with leading rehearsals and collaborate closely with directors, performers, and technical teams to ensure a flawless and captivating production.
  • Manage backstage activities during performances, including set changes, props, and cueing sound and lighting effects.
  • Assist with maintaining a precise show script and prompt actors during performances to ensure impeccable timing and delivery.
  • Oversee the safety and well-being of the cast and crew, anticipating and resolving any potential challenges.
  • Embrace creativity and problem-solving to handle unexpected situations, maintaining the integrity of the production.
 
 

Costume Designer – Project Based

  • Bring the characters to life through your creative vision and expertise in costume design.
  • Work closely with directors, producers, and other members of the production team to understand the overall vision and goals of the performance.
  • Develop a cohesive design concept that complements the production’s visual style and storytelling.
  • Source materials, fabrics, and accessories while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Conduct fittings with actors to ensure proper fit, comfort, and functionality of costumes. Make necessary adjustments and alterations to achieve the desired look.
  • Resolve any issues that arise with the costumes during the production process, ensuring seamless integration of costumes into the overall production.
 

Musical Director – Project Based

  • Interpret and shape the musical direction of each production, collaborating closely with the director and creative team to align with the show’s artistic vision.
  • Conduct rehearsals with precision and artistry, guiding vocalists, musicians, and ensemble members to deliver captivating and emotive performances.
  • Arrange and orchestrate music, tailoring compositions to suit the unique essence of each production and showcase the talents of our performers.
  • Collaborate with the production team to coordinate sound and music cues, ensuring seamless integration between live performance and technical elements.
  • Instill a spirit of creativity and excellence among the musical ensemble, fostering a collaborative and inspiring atmosphere that elevates each production to new heights.

  • Infuse your creativity into every project, pushing the boundaries of excellence.
  • Coordinate and host casts at our historic theatre for Mainstage Productions.
  • Play a pivotal role in the audition process and negotiate pay with actors during pre-production.
  • Embrace any other duties with enthusiasm and dedication, as directed by our producers.
 
COMPENSATION
  • $19/hr 20 hrs per week
