Milton Theatre Summer Camp Information

Already enrolled in camp 2025 at the Milton Theatre? We’re excited to have you! On this page, you’ll find more information about what to expect at camp. Keep an eye out for more information sent via email by our camp instructors coming soon!

For more information, email [email protected]

Camp runs Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm.

We ask that campers arrive 10-15 minutes early for check in and attendance. Additionally, we ask that guardians arrive no more than 10-15 minutes before dismissal time (3pm) to avoid distractions in the rehearsal areas.

At the end of the week, campers will perform three shows on Friday at 10am (final dress rehearsal), 12:30pm and 3pm. Campers will not be able to visit family between the shows. They will remain upstairs in the dressing rooms to rest and eat lunch. Campers will only come downstairs after the 3pm show is over for dismissal.

An Emergency Contact Form will be sent via email closer to the start of camp. Please fill out the emergency form as soon as possible. Filling out this form ahead of time helps us adequately prepare, making a better camp experience for everyone!

Our camp shows WILL sell out, so please buy your tickets ahead of time to avoid missing out.  Purchase tickets online at miltontheatre.com. You may also call or stop by our box office in person to purchase tickets.

Camp show tickets have not yet been released. Check back for more information soon.

All campers will receive a physical script to take home and practice. This is their souvenir to keep.

Your camper is responsible for their script, and we can not provide a new one if it is lost or damaged. We only have enough materials for each camper to receive one script for the entire week of camp.

Picking up the script early will allow your camper to prepare for auditions on the first day and will make learning all of the material much less daunting if they are familiar ahead of time. We will let you know when scripts are available for pick up at our box office.

Base Costume:

  • Black pants
  • Plain black t-shirt
  • Black socks
  • Black close-toed shoes

A few leads will not wear the base costume, but all campers should be prepared with the base costume.

On Thursday & Friday, your camper will arrive in their Base Costume for dress rehearsal and performances.

Please label all costume items and personal items with your student’s name for safekeeping.

A daily Hot Lunch is included in the registration fee for each camper. To avoid food waste, let us know which days your camper will eat the provided hot lunch via the camp emergency form. If your decision changes, please let a camp staff member know at drop-off.

You are welcome to bring a packed lunch if you prefer. Campers will NOT have access to a microwave for heating packed lunches.

We require all campers to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. We have filtered water available for refilling water bottles.

We will have two snack breaks per day. You can pack snacks for your camper, or snacks and beverages are available for purchase at our concession stand. During camp snack breaks, our concession stand will offer: chips, candy, soda, lemonade, and water.

For easy transactions, purchase a “Snack Card” for your camper. This is a great option if you’re a parent with multiple campers! We recommend loading the card with $25 per camper to use throughout the week.

You can purchase snack cards in-person, over the phone, or online.

If you purchase a card online, you must give us a copy. If we don’t have it, your camper cannot use it.

  1. Print the e-card (with the 16-digit redemption code)
  2. Write your camper’s name on the paper
  3. Turn it in to a camp staff member at drop off.

We will hold auditions on the first day of camp. We encourage all campers to pick up the script ahead of time and review the music tracks provided via email before the start of camp.

To audition, campers will perform a verse and chorus of any song of their choosing a cappella (this means without music). This can be a song from the camp show, your favorite song from the radio, or a familiar nursery rhyme like “Happy Birthday”.

Auditions give us a baseline of each camper’s ability and comfort level on stage. Roles are assigned based on this audition. Everyone will receive a role no matter what. However, those who choose not to audition will be ineligible for lead roles or solo parts.

Closer to the start of camp, the director will send out a Music Link to help your camper practice at home. The link will have 2 folders.

One folder is the guide vocal tracks. This means the professionals are singing along with you like you would on the radio. This is good for practicing before the start of camp or the first few days.

The second folder is the performance tracks. This means you will only hear the music playing. Your camper will sing all the words. Begin using the performance tracks once your camper has begun learning the music at camp.

We will be dancing and moving each day. Campers must wear closed-toe shoes. NO dresses/skirts.

NO SCREENS, JUST SCENES

Drop the phone, and step in the zone!

We believe that by removing distractions, we can create an atmosphere where students can truly thrive, concentrate, and immerse themselves fully in the world of theatre.

One of our primary goals is to foster connections and establish a strong sense of community among our students. By eliminating screen time and encouraging face-to-face interaction, we can create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring their creativity and collaborating with their peers.

To clarify, students are still allowed to bring their phones to class, but ALL devices (phones, tablets, smart watches, etc) must be silenced and stay in their bags for the duration of their stay at the theatre. For emergencies, you may call our box-office line, which will be fully staffed during class hours.
