Grease: Live Production – Matinee
GREASE IS THE WORD. MILTON IS THE PLACE. Summer 2026 | The Mainstage Production Dust off your leather jackets and poodle skirts—Rydell High is taking over the Milton Theatre! Experience the world’s #1 rock ‘n’ roll musical as you’ve never seen it before: intimate, electric, and completely live. From the Burger Palace Boys to the Pink Ladies, we’re bringing the gritty, hand-jiving spirit of 1959 straight to your seat. Don’t be a beauty school dropout. Grab your tickets before they burn rubber. Grease Book, Music and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys’ and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin’,” “It’s Raining on Prom Night” and “Alone at the Drive-In Movie,” recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An eight-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals, along with innumerable school and community productions, place Grease among the world’s most popular musicals. Grease debuted off-Broadway on February 14, 1972 at the Eden Theatre in New York City. The show transferred to Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre, and later to the Royale Theatre, closing on April 13, 1980 after a record-breaking 3,388 performances. The film adaptation of Grease premiered in 1978 and became the highest-grossing movie musical of all time. Grease returned to Broadway twice, in a 1994 revival directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun and in a 2007 revival directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall. Hadestown: Teen Edition
“Achingly beautiful, thought-provoking, powerful and prophetic.” – Newsday Summer 2026 | Student Mainstage Production Hadestown: Teen Edition Book, Music & Lyrics by Anaïs Mitchell This intriguing and beautiful folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and lady Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Mitchell’s beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. After its origins as a DIY community theatre project in 2006 and a studio album in 2010, Hadestown electrified audiences with its 2016 world premiere at New York Theatre Workshop, becoming the longest-running show in that celebrated theatre’s 40-year history. The production then received its Canadian premiere at Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre in 2017 and then a 2018 sold-out engagement at London’s National Theatre. Hadestown opened on Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre on April 17, 2019, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin, starring Reeve Carney, André De Shields, Amber Gray, Eva Noblezada and Patrick Page. Hadestown made its West End debut in February 2024 at the Lyric Theatre, London. Directed by Chavkin, the production featured Dónal Finn, Grace Hodgett Young, Zachary James, Melanie La Barrie and Gloria Onitiri. Hadestown: Teen Edition is a modified version of Anaïs Mitchell’s Tony-winning musical, adapted for teen performers (19 and younger) and family audiences by adjusting language, removing mature content, and altering vocal arrangements to better suit younger voices. HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Corp.www.concordtheatricals.com
