Grease: Live Production

GREASE IS THE WORD. MILTON IS THE PLACE. Summer 2026 | The Mainstage Production Dust off your leather jackets and poodle skirts—Rydell High is taking over the Milton Theatre! Experience the world’s #1 rock ‘n’ roll musical as you’ve never seen it before: intimate, electric, and completely live. From the Burger Palace Boys to the Pink Ladies, we’re bringing the gritty, hand-jiving spirit of 1959 straight to your seat. Don’t be a beauty school dropout. Grab your tickets before they burn rubber.   Grease Book, Music and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey   Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys’ and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin’,” “It’s Raining on Prom Night” and “Alone at the Drive-In Movie,” recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An eight-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals, along with innumerable school and community productions, place Grease among the world’s most popular musicals. Grease debuted off-Broadway on February 14, 1972 at the Eden Theatre in New York City. The show transferred to Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre, and later to the Royale Theatre, closing on April 13, 1980 after a record-breaking 3,388 performances. The film adaptation of Grease premiered in 1978 and became the highest-grossing movie musical of all time. Grease returned to Broadway twice, in a 1994 revival directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun and in a 2007 revival directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall.   GREASE is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC. www.concordtheatricals.com

Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Hedwig and the Angry Inch Fall 2026 | Mainstage Production Get ready to lift up your hands for the most electrifying event of the season! The Milton Theatre is thrilled to present the cult-classic rock musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Experience the grit and glamour like never before. The intimate setting of the Milton Theatre puts you right in the middle of the “Angry Inch” tour. There isn’t a bad seat in the house to witness every sequin, every tear, and every soaring high note of Stephen Trask’s legendary score. Hedwig and the Angry Inch Text by John Cameron Mitchell, Music & Lyrics by Stephen Trask   This groundbreaking, Obie-winning off-Broadway smash also won multiple awards for its hit film adaptation and Broadway revival. In a powerhouse one-night-only concert, “internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Schmidt takes to the stage to smash the fourth wall and rock the house. Hedwig, an East German rock ’n’ roll goddess, happens to be the victim of a botched sex-change operation, which has left her with an “angry inch.” Hedwig (née Hansel) explains her story in the form of a rock gig/stand-up comedy routine, backed by a hard-rocking band called “The Angry Inch.” Through songs and monologues, Hedwig tells her story, which began in the former East Berlin, where she met Luther, an American GI who promised to take her to the States on the condition that she change her genitalia. After the bungled operation, Luther abandons Hedwig in a Kansas trailer park, where she turns to music and meets geeky Tommy Speck, whom she mentors and deeply loves. Tommy steals her songs and achieves rock star fame, casting Hedwig aside. Demanding redress, she has stalked Tommy’s world tour, performing in the shabby venue next to his stadium show. Through head-banging anthems and heartfelt rock ballads, Hedwig describes her life’s search for “The Origin of Love” and a reunion with her other half. It’s a rocking ride – funny, touching, and ultimately inspiring to anyone who feels life gave them an inch when they deserved a mile.   Hedwig and the Angry Inch is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing Global.
